Project Overview

 

Brief

Savana Environmental was contracted to undertake the removal and reinstatement of an asbestos insulating board partition wall between the Moving Hood Shed and Workshop and

mezzanine areas followed by the reinstatement of a new 1 hour fire-rated partition wall.

Services

Fixed scaffolding was erected by a licenced scaffold contractor to facilitate access to the partition up to 8m high at the apex and provide enclosure support.

Asbestos Insulating board was removed from the Moving Hood side of the wall with the timber frame fully decontaminated as part of the works allowing the framework to be dismantled and disposed as timber waste for recycling in the following phase of the works.

Outcome

On completion of the asbestos removal works a 1 hour rated partiton was erected using jumbo stud work and fire-rated plasterboard, taped and jointed on completion and decorated to finish.
